Cat Demon is the 394th chapter of the InuYasha manga.
Synopsis[]
- The Nun reveals that she is actually a cat demon in disguise. She traps Kagome, intending on eating her, while Miroku, Sango and Inuyasha are busy battling the other cat-demons.
Summary[]
- The flesh around the cat demon's bones reform, and Inuyasha thinks to himself this must be the demon that was buried under the temple and sealed 100 years ago. Hearing the commotion, Kagome and Sango run out of the temple to help the boys, but Sango is dragged to the ground by more cat demons disguised as nuns. Inuyasha uses the wind scar to cut the reformed large cat demon in half, and Miroku uses sacred sutras to destroy the demons disguised as nuns, freeing Sango. The bones of the large cat demon start to reform again despite being shredded by Inuyasha's wind scar. Inuyasha shouts to the group that the bones don't smell like cat demon at all.
- The Nun says that many have tried to rid the temple of the cat demon, but all have failed and were devoured, just as they will soon be. The Nun reveals her true form: another cat demon. Kagome wonders how this can be, since Inuyasha said the nun smelled human. More cat-nuns grab Kagome from the floor, trying to drag her down, but Kirara saves her. However, the cat demon gives Kirara an evil stare and suddenly the Nekomata transforms back into her small form. The cat demoness explains Kirara is just a kitten compared to her, as she's been alive over 300 years. The demoness approaches Kagome, about to devour her. Sango and Miroku attempt to get back inside the room but the door will no longer open. The cat demoness explains she has erected a barrier.
- Kagome wonders if Inuyasha will save her, and the cat demoness says he's too busy battling the other cat demons, also saying none of them will leave the temple alive. Then, the nun whispers "Please, help me..." and Kagome wonders if the nun is being controlled.
