Dragon-Scaled Tetsusaiga is the 395th chapter of the InuYasha manga.
Synopsis[]
- The Cat Demon revealed it took control a nun and used the human's body to lure villagers to their deaths
- Inuyasha uses his Dragon-Scaled Tessaiga to defeat the cat demon and free the possessed nun.
Summary[]
- Kagome realizes a human Nun is still alive inside the Cat Demon, being controlled by the feline Yōkai. The cat-nuns attempt to eat Kagome but Shippō uses his Foxfire to ward them off, and the pair try to run away. The cat demon slashes at Kagome, drawing blood and ripping her shirt. Miroku and Sango again attempt to enter, but they are unable to break the cat-demon's barrier.
- Outside, Inuyasha battles the ghostly remains of the giant cat demon, but when he smells Kagome's blood, he rushes off to save her. Just as the cat demoness is about to kill Kagome, Inuyasha bursts in with the Red Tessaiga, breaking the barrier and saving Kagome. Miroku uses his Kazaana to kill the ghost-cat. Inuyasha and group confront the cat-demon, and Inuyasha wonders why she smells like a demon now when she smelled human earlier. The demoness explains she was sealed by a Monk a hundred years ago, but many years later, a nun came along to try and exorcise her remains. She was able to overpower the nun and undo the seal, becoming a free demon again. She took control of the human nun's body, using it to lure humans to the temple in order to devour them. Sango angrily protests "But she was trying to save your soul!" and the cat demon said it never asked anyone to do such a thing.
- Inuyasha raises his Tessaiga to kill the demon, but Kagome informs him the nun is still alive inside, as she asked for help earlier. Inuyasha slashes at the cat-demon's chest, revealing a severed cat's paw; the place the demon's true power resides. The cat demon holds the paw to herself and says Inuyasha is free to strike, but he'll kill the innocent nun as well. Inuyasha unveils his Dragon-Scaled Tessaiga, and stabs the demon in the cat's paw, draining it of all its demonic power while not harming the nun, destroying the Cat Demon permanently.
- Later, the group says their goodbyes to the now freed Nun. Miroku flirts with the Nun, and Sango jealously hits him on the head with her Hiraikotsu. Inuyasha thinks to himself how using the Dragon-scaled Tessaiga made the sword very hot.
