The Tragic Love Song of Destiny, Part 1

Kaede tells a story of Kikyō, recalling a battle from her youth when her sister fought at the side of another priestess, Tsubaki.

The story continues, telling how Sango's tribe recovered the Shikon no Tama and began a search for a priestess.

Kikyō tells Kaede that Tsubaki has cursed her, in the form of a warning that should Kikyō ever fall in love, she will die a violent death.

We see Kikyō receive the Jewel of Four Souls from the demon hunters, and the resulting influx of demons that attack her.

We see the initial meeting of Kikyō and a dark-haired Inuyasha. Inuyasha learns of the Sacred Jewel and begins to pester Kikyō for it. Instead of slaying him as she did so many other demons, time and again Kikyō leaves Inuyasha alive.

Kaede tells how Kikyō at this time began paying more attention to her appearance. Kikyō and Inuyasha drew closer to each other. Kikyō created a subjugation necklace for Inuyasha, but chose not to use it.

Notes

  • "The Tragic Love Song of Destiny" is a one hour special.
