The Shield of Mount Hakurei is the 249th chapter of InuYasha manga.
Synopsis[]
- Kikyō tells the group that no demons or humans with wicked thoughts can approach the area because of a purifying barrier that surrounds Mount Hakurei. Kikyō deduces that Doctor Suikotsu would not have been able to live at the foot of the sacred mountain if he had been a man of impure thoughts, but when his other evil personality took control, he started to feel ill.
- Kikyō states that she is also affected by the barrier because she is a dead person brought back to life.
- Kagome and Inuyasha have a fight about Kikyō. She "Sits!" him multiple times.
- The group goes to the base of Mount Hakurei. Shippō, Kirara, and even Inuyasha start to feel ill because of its purifying barrier. Miroku wonders whether or not Naraku could be hiding inside the barrier, but Inuyasha says it isn't possible because a big pile of evil like Naraku would be instantly purified.
- Renkotsu, Ginkotsu, Jakotsu, and Suikotsu meet up with Kohaku. Renkotsu says they're about to be reunited with their "oldest brother", the leader of the Band of Seven.
