Sacred arrows are used by someone with high-level spirtual powers they are used quite often in the Inuyasha series. The Sacred Arrow is the main weapon of Kikyo the priestess and Kagome. They are very powerful and can even make the Tessaiga return to its original state as seen when Kikyo is resurrected and tries to kill Inuyasha. Another time is when Kagome shoots it when Sesshomaru takes the sword and tries to kill Inuyasha. Sacred arrows are hinted to be made from the spiritual object, the Sacred Tree (or the Tree of Ages) from fallen branches, or souls as mentioned at the episode of Kagura's Wind and Kanna's Mirror. Sacred arrows are limited to it shooters level of spirituality, which is stated when Hitomiko tells Kagome that her power was sealed so she could not unleash her true power which is the reason why her spiritual powers were limited at that time and was not capable that of Kikyo's. The Sacred Arrow is at many times seen to be molded with dirt or part of a corpse to slay a hanyou, daiyoukai, youkai, etc.
