Hojo (宝条,
Houjou) is a school friend of
Kagome who has a very large crush on her. Kagome's school friends think that Kagome and Hojo should be together, but Kagome is conflicted with her feelings between Hojo and
Inuyasha. Hojo is always under the pretense that Kagome has a fatal illness, said by Kagome's grandfather (a.k.a. "Grampa"), to say instead of telling Kagome's secret of going through the well into the feudal era. In short, Kagome is attracted to Hojo, but in a friendly way. Hojo seems to be a
girl magnet.
