I am currently having a disagreement with Lord Hyoga concerning what level of speculation is acceptable with regard to adding material to an article. He is telling me that adding material that has no direct evidence to support it into an article is standard practice on this wiki. Now, I'm not certain, but I have always been under the impression that a wiki is not supposed to include information that cannot be conclusively verified. Otherwise, how does one even go about cleaning up articles? I was wondering if you could perhaps clarify this for me, as he seems (assuming Lord Hyoga is a he) to be something of a Sesshomaru fan and it seems to me as though that might be clouding his judgement in this matter. The thread regarding this disagreement is on my talk page if you care to take a look.
I have never said you don't need "direct evidence" to add material into an article, and you have no grounds for saying that I did. I'm happy to discuss this issue with you, but the fact that you are trying to circumvent that process out of impatience on your part and by putting words in my mouth betrays a profound lack of maturity. If you don't like our policies, you don't have to stay.
How exactly is is circumventing anything to ask someone else who is in charge about the policy? There is no "process" to circumvent because I told you before that I don't care if the change stays or goes. I just want an answer to the question of why and to what degree speculation can be included in articles. I wanted someone else to take a look at the thread so that I could get an impartial answer as to whether or not you had a valid point. I don't have anything against you, but this isn't your wiki. I'm allowed to ask whomever I want whatever questions I want, especially since our conversation appeared to be going nowhere. That includes questions about the policies. And if you think I am being unfair in my presentation, the original thread is still there. Anyone can look at it.
Also, you have been trying to defend the inclusion of something in an article which has no direct evidence. I can't say it any other way; that's simply what you've been doing. Like I said in my last post on the original thread, give me a source. Give me some evidence other than just your opinion, and this whole thing would become a non-issue. But all you do is to keep giving me speculation, and all I can do is just keep saying that speculation doesn't belong in an encyclopedia article, and that if something can't be proven one way or another, it ought not to be there.
I'm not going to waste my time arguing with you. Your accusations are baseless and nonsensical. You can ask whomever you want questions, but in the context of the situation, it shows that you aren't discussing the issue with me in good faith, but rather are impatiently trying to go to someone else so that they can decide the issue in your favor. But that isn't how things work and it won't exactly make you very popular with anyone here, because it shows you aren't a serious contributor who is willing to abide by consensus, but instead run roughshod over whosoever disagrees with you, traditional ways of doing things be damned.
So... this image was removed once before, a few months ago, and at first I thought its deletion was some kind of misunderstanding or mistake, and along with that, I hadn't gotten around to licensing it yet. Now I've reuploaded it, but now, I think I know why it was deleted. I wonder, is it considered explicit content and is therefore unsuitable to be used on the wiki? I've read over the image policies and there's nothing that states such an explicit image can't be on the wiki. It's from the official InuYasha Manga after all, it's not as though it's fan art or something. Thoughts? HalberdBanryu (talk) 05:36, February 6, 2014 (UTC)
I remember there was a user who edited some articles in Doraemon Simplified Chinese wiki, and I didn't understand why the Wikia staff blocked him for awhile, he really didn't do anything wrong like creating spams or vandalism, just edited some pages. O_o After the staff unblocked him, he was angry and rushed to his message wall asking why he had to deserve it. ._.
