Nagasaki Hitomi (人見長崎, ひとみながさき) was the father of Kagewaki Hitomi who was killed and possessed by Naraku, disguised as his son, after he lured Sango's family.

HistoryEdit

Nagasaki's castle was plagued by a giant spider yōkai that had devoured some of his people, and was suspected to be the cause of his son's illness. Nagasaki hired a group of exterminators to kill the yōkai. Nagasaki expressed his concern at the exterminators' abilities since a young girl and a child was among their ranks. The leader of exterminators stated that they were his son and daughter, and that they were the best exterminators in his village. The yōkai soon descended from the sky. The exterminators were able to kill it. When the boy Kohaku was about to perform his role, he suddenly turned against his fellow exterminators and killed them, except his sister Sango. She soon saw that a spider web thread was attached to Kohaku's neck that originated from Nagasaki. Sango attempted to kill Nagasaki before being struck down by his guards on his order.

Nagasaki's son, Kagewaki, appeared and killed his father. A small spider yōkai emerged from Nagasaki's body and attempted to flee before being killed by Kagewaki. He justified his actions by saying that his father had been acting different for some time, and suspected something was wrong with him. Kagewaki ordered that the exterminator's were to receive proper burials in the castle garden.

This was all orchestrated by the hanyō Naraku to weaken the defences of the exterminator's village in order to destroy the village, and steal their shards of the Shikon no Tama.

Manga vs. AnimeEdit

  • In the manga, Nagasaki was beheaded by Naraku (who was disguised as his son). Afterwords the spider yōkai emerged from the head, and was then stabbed by Naraku. In the anime, he was stabbed in the back by Naraku (still disguised as his son). The spider yōkai then attempted to flee through Nagasaki's shadow until it was punctured by Naraku.
