Taichi (太一, "Very One") was the son of a woodcutter who helped Kohaku bandage his wound from a white dog demon possessed by a Hitōkon.[1][2]
Taichi was later possessed by the demon,[3] and attacked his own father without any knowledge of the incident. Kohaku, who experienced a similar situation with his own father, refused to let such a traumatic event reoccur. He fought with the possessed Taichi. Kohaku's sister Sango managed to rid the demon from the boy's body with her more vast slayer knowledge. In the anime, Kagura destroys the demon with her Dance of Blades.
